You are bidding on a large original antique print from an 1880s illustrated journal. The quality of the printing from that era was exceptional.
It depicts 19 different dog breeds at a show held in 1884. Bottom center is a
Great Pyrenees dog. THis is the first time I have seen one in a group picture from that era! Also are the Red Irish Setter, Scotch COllie, English Greyhound, Great Dane, Spaniel, Pointer, Irish Water Spaniel, Newfoundland, Rough Coated St. Bernard, Pug, Bulldog, Straight-legged Dachshund, Scotch Terrier, English Mastiff,
Berghund (Great Pyrennes),
Bent-legged Dachshound (basset hound), foxhound and fox terrier.
The print
is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 16 inches (28 x 40.5 cm). The picture fills most of the page, with a caption below.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
There is text/photos on the back of the print.
