This listing is for
a beautiful antique hand blown American art glass basket, c. 1880-1890.
The inside of the basket is beautifully colored with rose shading to white with internal silver mica flecks in the glass and a clear crimped edge with white exterior with an applied thorn handle. The basket is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs although there is some slight discoloration under the lower edge on one side of the handle (see photos).

These glass baskets were produced by a number of the famous American glass factories and were seldom, if ever, signed. They were never mass-produced and each was a creation in itself often created by the glassblower as a gift or novelty item.  This type glass basket were at the height of their popularity between 1880-1890.
