We took the classic Joule Thief circuit, and applied our electronic expertise, and made the unique, practical improvements listed below!

* - THREE high brightness LED's
* - On/Off switch
In addition to being a Joule Thief learning circuit, the kit also serves as a low power flashlight. The light is not as bright as an ordinary flashlight, but makes a great low power - emergency flashlight. Since it runs on dead batteries, you will always have light!
Easy printed circuit board assembly. High quality fiberglass circuit board. Single sided design without plated through holes, so it is easy for the beginner to solder and unsolder. Complete with all parts.  Comes with a single instruction set.  Assembled kits can not be returned.
What is a Joule Thief circuit?
A joule thief circuit allows a fresh or 'dead' battery, to power one or more LED's. Normally a single 1.5 volt battery can not light an LED, as they require 2-3 volts to operate. The Joule Thief boosts the battery voltage to power the LED's.
The circuit will work down to approximately 0.5 volts, so batteries you would normally throw out, will still power the circuit
