Can be operated in any position. This is the 26.5v heater version of the 4X150A.  MFU from HF to 500 MHZ at lower specs. Plate dissipation up to 250 watts. Used as Plate Modulated RF AMP;  RF AMP/OSC,  AF AMP or Modulator,  RF Linear AMP (AB1, AB2).
